Cheap Paper

One more deal for ya...

At Staples this week, Hammermill reams of paper are 5.99 but they are offering a 4.99 rebate for each ream, making them only $1 each! You are limited to 2 reams, but, this is a great price on paper! I just submitted my rebate online (they have a quick, easy way of doing this) and can't wait to receive my check for $9.98 in the mail!

A Few Good Deals to Start your Week...

Every Monday in March Dunkin Donuts is running a promotion where you can head in and score a free medium iced or hot coffee. No purchase is necessary.
**I haven't checked our store in Huntersville to make sure they're participating, but hopefully they are! You may want to call the stores near you before you head out to get your free coffee!
In March, on Saturdays, KIDS EAT FREE at Qdoba! We went this past Saturday and Tucker enjoyed his favorite meal--quesadilla and beans--for free!

I need a pity party!

We have had a rough few days around here... Thursday, in the middle of the night, I woke up with the stomach bug... I don't think I have ever been that sick! I'll spare you the details... After hearing of 3 different families that have had it this week that I've been in contact with, it's not that big of a surprise. Yesterday was a really tough day since Brad is still on his crutches and unable to do much to help with Tucker. He did his best and let's just say we watched a lot of Sesame Street :) I finally felt better this morning after a great night's sleep and am trying to take it easy to make sure I'm better. We are praying that Brad and Tucker stay free from the yuckies since it does seem to be going around!

Brad is getting better slowly...it has been 3 1/2 weeks since his surgery and he is still on crutches and not really comfortable putting much weight on his foot. Recovery has been a little slower than we expected, but hopefully he'll be able to put more and more weight on it this week!

To say the least, we are looking forward to things getting back to normal around our house!

Good Find!

I'm new in the consignment world but I love a good deal, of course.... This week, I went to the first day of a big consignment sale in our area and I stumbled upon this.......
We have been interested in buying one of the backpacks to hold our run-around-everywhere-so-you-have-chase-him-all-over-in-public toddler.... But, we didn't want to pay full price so we were totally up for a used one. I have no idea how old this is but it looks like it's in great condition and they attached the lifetime guarantee papers, so hopefully that means something.

These are normally priced around $200+ and I got this one for $45!

Happy Consigning Season!

Cursed with Furniture

I don't know if you remember the couch incident, but I don't really have a good track record with furniture companies, getting new furniture, or anything else in this realm! After not trying to get anything new for a long time, it seems my run of bad luck continues. A few months ago, we decided to order a bench for our den. There's a place against our wall where it will fit perfectly and it is also a storage bench, so it will be a great place to hide some toys. We ordered it from Ballard Designs, which has great stuff......but, we're not too impressed with them right now.

When we originally ordered the bench in December, it was on back order until February. No big deal. In February, I got an email saying it was going to come a few weeks later, in March. Still, no big deal. I was so excited when I saw the big box on my porch 2 days ago, a little earlier than what they had predicted. We took all the pieces out (it requires a little assembly) as well as 1,000 pieces of Styrofoam. Just as Brad was reading the directions (he's one of those guys) and beginning assembly, he realizes we are missing one of the little baggies that is supposed to be included. This baggie happens to hold the 8 bolts that hold the entire bench together. AWESOME. This is a BIG DEAL. So, since Brad is still on crutches, I move all of the pieces to the top of our dining room table by myself, where they will probably collect dust while waiting to be assembled. Brad called Ballard (he didn't really want to unleash me to the customer service) and they proceed to tell us that the bench is still back ordered and we will not be able to get our ONE part until the benches come in, IN MAY. Seriously people? So, today, Brad got a product service guy on the phone--the first person to show some understanding--and he explained the size of the bolts and assured us that we can probably find the pieces we need at a hardware store. He said we could even send them the receipt and they'll reimburse us. A little redemption for Ballard there...

So, we'll head out this weekend in search for our bolts and assembly will hopefully take place. Cross your fingers for us that it works because I am not going to be a Happy Camper, or should I say customer, if it doesn't!

Awaiting my bench,
Nicole

First Baseball Game

While I went away for my girls weekend, Tucker went to spend the weekend with Pops and Gigi! He got to see Uncle Anthony and Lindsay and he got to go to his first baseball game! The Pirates played South Carolina and had a big win! Tucker met ""Petey the Pirate", which I don't think he was too sure of and he brought home his very own game ball!

Weekend with the Girls...

This past weekend, my best girls from college got together at the Lake! We had lots to celebrate with Stephanie and Rebecca expecting little ones in May and as always, we had no shortage of things to catch up on! I'm so thankful for these girls and how we continue to walk through life together--can't wait till next time!

The two pregnant mamas! In May, we will welcome two MORE boys to the group!
