Boo Stomach Bug!

It's been a rough week! Tucker came down with the stomach bug Wednesday...with fever and throwing up... and it lingered until Friday. It was so different for him to be older while sick since he could communicate how he was feeling more. He must have said "seepy tired" ten times a day :( He slept a lot, watched A LOT of TV, and ate very little. We had lots of Mommy-Tucker time on the couch, which is probably what made me come down with the nasty bug last night! Oh.My.Gosh. it was awful! Who doesn't hate throwing up...but while you're pregnant? I really thought I would never get better... After several "incidents", I finally called the nurse and she was my hero when she said she would call in Zofran for me around midnight. And it worked! After the anti-nausea meds and a whole day of taking it easy, I feel like a different person tonight. We're hoping we've seen the worst of it and that Brad doesn't catch it, of course!

I need a pity party!

We have had a rough few days around here... Thursday, in the middle of the night, I woke up with the stomach bug... I don't think I have ever been that sick! I'll spare you the details... After hearing of 3 different families that have had it this week that I've been in contact with, it's not that big of a surprise. Yesterday was a really tough day since Brad is still on his crutches and unable to do much to help with Tucker. He did his best and let's just say we watched a lot of Sesame Street :) I finally felt better this morning after a great night's sleep and am trying to take it easy to make sure I'm better. We are praying that Brad and Tucker stay free from the yuckies since it does seem to be going around!

Brad is getting better slowly...it has been 3 1/2 weeks since his surgery and he is still on crutches and not really comfortable putting much weight on his foot. Recovery has been a little slower than we expected, but hopefully he'll be able to put more and more weight on it this week!

To say the least, we are looking forward to things getting back to normal around our house!

Tucker wore his Halloween costume for all of 5 minutes...just long enough to get some pictures of course :) Isn't he the cutest penguin you've ever seen!

As far as a "sick udpate", Tucker seems to be feeling better today...he still has a low grade fever as well as a pretty tired, puny demeanor, but he is way better than yesterday. We went to the doctor this morning and unfortunately his platelet count had not gone up since yesterday like they had hoped. It should be around 150,000 and his is hanging around 85,000 (the rest of his blood work is normal). This is not reason to be really worried, but they definitely have to make sure it's getting higher over the next few days. We go back Monday morning to check his blood work again.
