Who do I cheer for?

Well, we didn't have the best of luck with the Pirates or with the Vols today, but Tucker was in spirit anyway :) Good thing the games weren't at the same time so he could have an outfit change!
GO PIRATES!
GO VOLS!
Tucker and Carter...training 'em early :)
An attempt to have a picture with daddy...this was the face I got just before he said "all done" and got down. :(

New Sprouts!

Over the last few weeks, we have been getting what seems to be the last of a beautiful harvest of veggies from the garden! The most exciting were the red and yellow peppers... These start out looking like the green peppers and take FOREVER to turn red and yellow. We finally started to see some color and have been enjoying all of our different peppers! We said goodbye to our cucumber plant (tear...) and our tomatoes are also close to the end.

But, in their place, are some new stuff we've planted for the Fall! And by we, I mean, Brad. For all of you who are impressed by "me and my garden", let me set the record straight that Brad should get all the credit! He's the one with the green thumb and he loves being in the yard! For the fall, we'll have some different stuff that seems to do better in cooler weather... Broccoli, cauliflower, and some different lettuce--romaine, bibb, mesculin, and grand rapids, as well as spinach! We're starting to see some little sprouts and look forward to all of our greens for the Fall!

And the Season Begins...

Football season that is. What other season is there in our house? :) Yesterday, our local school--Davidson College, kicked off their season and some of our friends decided it would be a good excuse to tailgate together :) It was fun since none of us went to school together and wouldn't normally get the chance to do that... Out of 5 families, all the kids were BOYS! So, we backed up to some grass, let them run around and enjoyed some yummy food and a little corn hole. Meanwhile, we're enjoying our teams via TV...Congrats to Tennessee on the BLOWOUT and the Pirates on their last second win against Tulsa--it was the best ending to a game I've seen in a long time!

Excited for this fun time of year!
Keeping up with the big boys and corn hole
intently eating out of the box...not a normal occurrence :)
Miles, Tucker, and Clay...they've got this tailgate thing down!
This picture would never do this moment justice... Tucker had to go "potty" so Brad took him in the woods to give it a try...not 3 seconds later, 4 other boys were running, excited to have "permission" to do the same! Amazing...

I'll leave you with the AMAZING last 5 seconds of the ECU-Tulsa game today... They needed a miracle and they got it! Our new quarterback is not lookin too bad! GO PIRATES!!!

Prayers for Seth

I can't believe I'm writing to ask you to pray for another dear friend of mine battling cancer... This isn't supposed to happen when you're 30!

Seth is married to one my of best friend's from college, Rebecca. He is a healthy, 29 year old daddy of 2 that went in for a regular physical only to find out he had a mass around his armpit... He was quickly diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma (State 2). Seth has had his first round of chemo and everyone's feeling really optimistic since he is young and healthy and because they seem to have caught it early! Please pray for my friends that are fighting this battle with a 3 month old and a 3 year old in tow...

Here is Seth's caring bridge that you can follow!

Ten-nis

So, I love watching tennis...and a lot of days right now, you will find the US OPEN on our TV. Tucker, in his ball-loving ways, likes to watch the tennis as well! The last few days, he's been saying "ten-nis" and then he runs to the playroom to find this random racquet we brought home from the beach. Today, he was standing in front of the TV, trying to swing just like the tennis players were! CUTE! So happy he likes my sport...especially since I'm sure it will take the back seat as soon as he sees all the football that will be on this weekend :)
