That's baby Guthe #4! Our friends Andy and Arin welcome sweet London to their family last week and she came out looking just like her sisters :) Excited for Hadley to have another little girlfriend!

Cookies for Kids' Cancer NASCAR Fun!

Cookies for Kids' Cancer was given the incredible opportunity a few weeks to be on the #39 Ryan Newman car for the Sprint Cup Race at the Charlotte Motor Speedway! This.was.a.big.deal. The story began when The Gene Haas Foundation granted Cookies $25,000, but it didn't stop there. The Foundation and Stewart Haas Racing invited 14 families of children fighting pediatric cancer in the Charlotte area to sit in their suite for the Nationwide Race on Friday night. A few weeks before the race, we found out that Cookies would also be on the #39 car! The entire process was surreal and it was an unbelievable privilege to be a part of it every step of the way.

We got to go watch the "wrapping" process of the car. Pretty cool that they use stickers and not paint...lots of blow torches and perfect placement of each decal.

We had an amazing time hosting these beyond deserving families on Friday night. They were incredibly grateful and we were humbled to spend that time with them. This is at the heart of what Cookies is all about.

Brad and I had the opportunity to go watch the race on Saturday night. Seeing the Cookies car under the lights was amazing and I've definitely never been that attentive to a NASCAR race before :) The car was in the top 10 for the entire race which made it thrilling to watch!

So thankful to be a part of something I love and that feels so purposeful. A big thanks to all the people in the NASCAR community that made this opportunity possible!

Well Checks

This morning Hadley and Tucker had a well check. It was a little crazy cramming in two appts before one or both kids had a meltdown, but we survived!

At 3 years old, Tucker is:

38 lbs (90th percentile)

39 1/2 inches (90th percentile)

This is the first time he has not only gained weight but that he lost a few pounds! He had grown a few inches so I think he's thinning out a little as he gets taller. He's perfectly healthy and lucky for him, there are no 3 year old vaccines.

At 9 months, Hadley is:

22 lbs and 9oz (97th percentile)

28 inches (50th percentile)

with her head in the 90th percentile!

I was happy she grew almost 3 inches in the last few months...it helps balance our her 97th percentile in weight :) She's also seemingly in great health and growing on track. Her tongue seems to be healing well and she's a trooper for undergoing that procedure and getting a few vaccines in the same week! It's hard to believe the next time we go to the doctor, she'll be turning ONE!

Dedicated

A few weeks ago, we had Hadley dedicated. It was a sweet day to remind us of our commitment to raise Hadley in the truth that she is loved by Jesus. We had this scripture read over her...

Psalm 139:13-16

For you created my inmost being;
you knit me together in my mother's womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place. When I was woven together in the depths of the earth, your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.

I'm so thankful that God knew all the days of Hadley's life before it even started...that nothing will be a surprise to Him. What a privilege that He has entrusted us with her life! We were thankful for our family that was here to celebrate this day with us!

The entire time that Bobby, our pastor, was reading the verse to Hadley, her eyes were locked in on him... it was a little funny but also sweet as it seemed like she was really taking it all in!

Birthday at school

Tucker's birthday lasted for several days :) We got to bring in cupcakes to preschool to celebrate with him. Above, his teacher, Mrs. Becky, is leading that class in "Happy Birthday".

The fire truck also visited on that day of preschool...everyone was proudly wearing their hats on the way out of school.

Although this last picture is blurry, I had to add it. This is Tucker and Max everyday...when they arrive at school and when they leave, they walk closely together--usually holding hands--through the hallway. It is so sweet!!
We are loving preschool and Tucker seems to be enjoying it so much!

9 months old!

Hadley Weekly!

40 weeks old.

Hadley is a busy girl! She's constantly on the move and wanting to get her hands on anything and everything around her. She pulls up on everything and would rather be standing than sitting. She moves along the furniture and I would predict she's walking by 10 months. HELP US ALL.

She wants to do whatever Tucker is doing and it seems like she has little interest in her toys when his are around.

She puts everything in her mouth and has gotten her two front teeth in the last few weeks. That makes 6 total teeth.

We had a fun trip to Greenville when we went to see baby Scarlett...Hadley had fun seeing Aunt Jordan!

This past Monday, Hadley had her first little surgery. She was "tongue tied" when she was born--her frenulum was too tight. A few months ago we found out we were going to have it clipped and since she was this old, it was an outpatient surgery. The only reason I was a little nervous is because she had to be put under. But, thankfully, everything went very smoothly. She was a trooper since she couldn't eat before the procedure and she handled the anesthesia very well. Although, her delirious state was hilarious :) It was very fast and there wasn't even any bleeding. It took a few hours for her to snap out of the dreary state but once that happened, you would have never known what had happened that morning. We're thankful it's behind us and looking forward to finally seeing her stick her tongue out!

Scarlett Reese!

I'm an aunt!

Scarlett Reese Cartrette entered the world on Tuesday, October 11th and we are thrilled to welcome another sweet girl into our family! Hadley and Scarlett are only 9 months apart and I see many girls trips and matching outfits in the future :)

We are so happy for Anthony and Lindsey and are already in love with our little niece! Enjoy some sweet pictures...

Digger Party!

The party was at "The Sandbox" - a local park that is just that--a big sandbox! It was the perfect place for digging!
