Tucker Monthly!

Tucker just turned 27 months! It's strange because for so long I've been saying "Tucker and the new baby will be 27 months apart" and now that I say he's 27 months old, I realize it's time for this baby's arrival!

When I remember 26 months, it's mostly full of Christmas! As I've already written, Tucker loved every minute of it and in fact, he's still bringing up "Jingle Bells" and other Christmas songs. He cried really hard when we took the Christmas tree out of our house, which was so sad! Post Christmas, he has been enjoying all of his new toys!

The "backhoe", as he calls it, is the favorite, of course! He loves to just sit on it and pile as many toys as possible into the compartments. He also enjoys the train table a lot!

Tucker also moved to the big boy this past month! About a month ago actually... He has adjusted well for the most part but we have definitely had some battles keeping him in his bed during naps lately. Let's just say discipline opportunities are happening often :) We're working on it and hopefully this is not a prelude to what's going to happen when the baby arrives!

Last week we had such a fun treat because Sharon and the kids came to visit for a long weekend! It's so fun to watch Tucker and Bosten play together--especially when they talk to each other :) Besides fighting over the tractor here and there, they had so much fun and Tucker actually loved Elle just as much! She taught Tucker how to dip cookies in milk which is a new fun treat now! It was so fun to have our dear friends with us!
In other news, Tucker is talking non-stop, full of new words everyday! He talks in sentences and rarely doesn't have something to say! He's a great eater, often eating as much as his pregnant mama! He loves his "puppy" and especially likes it when she snuggles in bed while reading bedtime stories! He seems to be interested when we talk about the baby coming but overall, I think he's pretty clueless about what's getting ready to take place under our roof!

We love you Tucker boy! I'll leave you with some dancing pictures :)

I'm showered and ready to go!

I have the best friends ever...seriously...

They took me to my favorite Mexican restaurant, Cantina's 1511 (where you must have the Tacos Marco Polo!), surrounding me with dear friends, served yummy cheesecake cupcakes, and showered me with gifts! I couldn't be more grateful to be surrounded by so many amazing women as I learn how to be a mama of 2! Lots of people to ask advice of, have play dates with, and to call on when I need to say how hard or wonderful things are!

Thank you friends - I LOVE you all!
Sweet Andrea...not only was it her birthday but she was also less than 48 hours from being induced with her little one...and already 4 cm dialted while she came to celebrate with me! I'm waiting to hear about her little one's arrival anytime now!

Christmas morning!

Christmas morning began with singing Happy Birthday to Jesus and enjoying the cake Tucker made with Grandma the day before. Cake for breakfast? Yes, please.

Tucker was a great age for Christmas gifts this year. He understood enough to say a few things he wanted (mostly derived by things people wanted in books or something he saw in a commercial) but not enough to be disappointed in what he got, if he didn't get something he asked for, etc. It was perfect :)

He did ask for a telescope (random!) so that was Hadley's present to him. It has a pirate on it and the first thing he said when he saw it was, "We need a boat!"
Tucker got a CARS sleeping bag from Grandpa and Grandma to go with the tent they gave him for his birthday. Now he's ready for camping!
CARS and anything small that moves seem to be his favorite gifts this year... He's officially really into the CARS movies and his imagination runs wild when he's playing with his own cars.
Sweet Hadley finally got a chair like "big brother's"! She loves to climb around in his and will be happy to not have to share :) Hopefully she'll be content to sit and not do flips over it...
Grandma and Grandpa!
Christmas morning with 2 little ones :: Sweet!

What is it about 37 weeks?

Today was a little eventful...

Tucker and I were getting ready to head out to go to the library when I slipped and fell down my garage steps, falling onto my side, on the hard concrete floor. OUCH. I knew immediately I hadn't fallen on my belly but I also knew I needed to make sure baby was okay. It scared me, it hurt, and poor Tucker--it rattled him to see Mommy on the ground crying!

After calling the dr., I headed in and they proceeded to do the non-stress test monitoring on me. The baby was moving here and there but they weren't quite getting the results they were looking for. After about an hour, they decided to send me home to eat lunch, in hopes that it would "wake" the baby up some more. I headed back to the dr. a little later and sat on the monitor for another hour before they decided to do an ultrasound to make sure everything was ok. GOOD NEWS--it was! Baby looked great, I was measuring right on time, and the heartbeat sounded normal. I was SO relieved after a few long hours of waiting for those good results... I did find out that the baby weighs about 6 lbs, 9 oz already...so with 3 weeks to go, it looks like it will be around the same birth weight as Tucker (7lbs, 8oz)! I also got to see the baby on the 4D ultrasound and although it looks so much like a full grown baby face, I absolutely couldn't tell if it looked like a boy or a girl! Just 3 more weeks till we find out (due date-Jan. 24th)!

The irony of today is that it was this exact same time I got in my wreck during my pregnancy with Tucker--at 37 weeks. That was definitely a lot more scary but let's be honest, anything out of the ordinary at this point in the game is alarming. So, tonight, I have a grateful heart... and a good bit of soreness :) I also have my bag packed, the car seat in the garage, and my "on call" people ready! :)

Don't worry about Grey...

She's all taken care of!

Tucker's cleaning her (his new favorite thing is to take a dry rag and "wash" her all over!)...
And he's making sure she has bear and "dee-dee"...
He also loves to say "Good Grul" to her these days ("Good Girl") whenever she obeys...so cute!

1st sleepover!

Tucker had a big boy sleepover last night! Our generous friends, the Gibbs, offered to take Tucker for the whole night so that we could have a night to ourselves as we celebrated our anniversary! It was so weird for him to stay somewhere else, especially in another "big bed"! But, besides with our parents, I can't think of anywhere else we'd rather him be for the night! Tucker LOVES these 4 boys and he's pretty fond of "Lissa" and "JD" as well :) He was all smiles when we met him at church this morning and full of stories of what he ate, what he played with, and other fun stuff he did! They said he did great...besides trying to get out of bed a few times, he slept great and was never scared or showing signs of missing us at all! It was very different to be in our house without him but such a GIFT, of course!

Thanks friends...we couldn't have asked for a better anniversary gift! We're so grateful that your house and your family has always been such a comfortable place for Tucker to go!
