Preschool!

Tucker is off! To preschool that is :) He is going to an in-home preschool with just 3 other little ones his age on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9-12! He doesn't have much idea of what this means and probably just thinks he's going for a play date, but I, on the other hand, am very aware of what 3 hours of being by myself means :) 3 hours post-kids, is like 6 hours pre-kids. You never knew how to do so much in such little time before you had little ones speaking for your time. I'm excited that it's not that much time for us to be away from each other, but a great amount of time for Tucker to learn, socialize, and have a different authority...and just enough time for me to get a "mommy break" :)

"Miss Sara" seems so excited about Tucker and his little friends and his first day today seemed to go well for everyone! The "potty rock star" did have 2 pee pee accidents, but I was kind of expecting that. Hopefully he'll get used to telling someone else when he has to go!

Baby Update!

Can you see baby's sweet hand?
As most of you know, we're expecting Baby #2 in January! The bump is beginning to show and it's starting to feel more and more real now that I'm almost halfway through the pregnancy (I'm 19 weeks)!

Last week, we got to have our ultrasound and see the little one! We are not finding out the gender but there was so much more to see... all his/her little body parts were forming perfectly, the heartbeat was strong and fast, and everything was right on schedule! There is SO much relief with knowing all is okay in there, especially when I still haven't felt the baby moving yet!

Our due date is officially January 24th! Enjoy these few pictures of our little one... The 4-D pictures are so surreal!
These look kind of weird...but so much like a baby all at the same time...even at 18 weeks!
You can see baby's nose...this one really struck me because the nose looks totally different than Tucker's did at this ultrasound! Hmmm....

Potty Rock Star!

I'm so proud of Tucker! He has gotten better and better with keeping his pants dry! He really hit it out of the park this weekend since today was the 4th day in a row that he has pooped in the potty! :) A few of those times were at public potties and other people's houses, which is even more impressive :) I'm not proud or anything.....

He's telling us most every time throughout the day and that is key. Hopefully the consistency is here to stay... it is such a different world not changing diapers!

The true test will begin tomorrow because Tucker is starting his "preschool" (in a home with a few other kids) 2 days a week and I'll be really interested to see if he's as good at telling Mrs. Sara as he is at telling me! Preschool will get another post...stay tuned!

Prayers for Liam

As most of you know, I have been volunteering with an amazing organization--Cookies for Kids Cancer--for the last several months. CFKC began when a mom and dad became passionate about fighting for their child's life that was stricken with neuroblastoma. It is a few years later and Cookies for Kids Cancer is having huge success in the battle of pediatric cancer, but their son, Liam, is very much fighting for his life. I would love to ask you to pray with me for this sweet little 6 year old...

Read this latest blog post from his Dad on the last several tough weeks they have had...

Praying for you Prince Liam!

Tucker and Charlie!

We had so much fun this weekend with Tori and Charlie! Tori and I have been friends for a LONG time and although we haven't lived in the same town for awhile, it has been so much fun to have our babies at the same time! Tucker and Charlie are just 5 weeks apart and now that she's expecting again as well, out next 2 will be close together as well! It's always fun for Tucker to have a friend around that's doing all the same things he's doing... They had a great time and the mamas had so much fun too!
They played with trains...
Elmo...
They got to dance to some live music...
This is Tucker's famous move right now--air guitar--h.i.l.a.r.i.o.u.s!

go on walks...
and rides...
Love ya'll and can't wait till next time!

Happy Birthday Jason!

Last week, we celebrated Jason's 8th birthday with him! Since we were in potty training mode, we kept it simple for the birthday night with dinner here and some Wii time with Mr. Brad! Tucker was very intrigued by the nerf guns that were being used :) It is hard to believe that Jason was just 2 years old and potty training when I first starting working with the Gibbs! Time is flying by as I watch these boys get older! I love getting to still spend time with them! Tucker loves Jason and could hardly eat dinner, he was so excited to have him at our table :)

Happy Birthday Jason! We love you!

Potty Update

Well, we just finished up Day 11 of potty training! It has been a long few weeks--lots of inside time, staying on Tucker's hip, and lots of paper towels and swiffering... But, I really am encouraged as we sit on this side of it! Today and yesterday, Tucker has had NO accidents in his underpants (first 2 days in a row)! A few days ago, we got our 2nd poop on the potty (BIG DEAL after a week long hiatus) and last night we went to a restaurant for the first time where he went pee-pee on the big, scary restaurant potty--I was so proud of him! He's getting better at telling me and he's going long amounts of time between peeing, which makes me realize that he is ready for this! Probably my biggest fear is how he'll do in environments outside of our home, especially if I'm not watching him like a hawk. But, hopefully all this work will pay off and he will start going potty more and more on his own accord!
Big boy in his underwear!
These weeks have not been without discouragement, questioning myself, gagging at the smell of poop, lots of M&M's, and going a little stir crazy, but if it's to get rid of the diapers, it's worth it, right?
