Tucker Weekly

Tucker is 47 weeks old... and 11 months old as of yesterday! I'm late on the "bear picture" so be looking for that tomorrow! I can't believe he is 1 month away from his first birthday! This year has flown by!

Last weekend, Tucker got to go to his first football game at ECU--GO PIRATES!

He survived a busy week of travel and it's been so nice to be back home and in our routine! He got his 8th tooth and it seems as if the next ones are on the way! He seems to be very mommy-attached right now and cries often when I walk away... He's still standing up in the crib ALL the time and it often is the culprit of his shorter naps. Hopefully this little phase will be over soon! We dropped the lunchtime nursing and replaced it with a combination of breast milk and whole milk. He doesn't seem crazy about the whole milk but hopefully he will adjust soon! We also started putting it in a sippy cup instead of a bottle the last few days and he's slowly catching onto that too. So, I'm only nursing him in the morning and at night now--I don't know how ready he is for this, but we're getting close to the end! Tucker loves to dance and starts to move as soon as music comes on! He has found the stairs, Grey's bowls and has figured out how to open up cabinets--yikes! He's crawling faster and faster but still not trying to walk. Our boy is on the move!

Happy Wednesday!

Cinderella with a Racquet

Melanie Oudin is the story of this year's US OPEN. She is a 17 year old girl from Georgia, playing her heart out, and upsetting lots of great tennis players along the way! She just advanced to the quarterfinals of the US OPEN--her first Grand Slam quarterfinals ever! She is so fun to watch--full of a competitive spirit and a nothing-to-lose attitude! Good luck Melanie--hope you go all the way! GO USA!

Tucker Weekly

This 46th week of Tucker's life has been B-U-S-Y! Last week, my parents came into town to hang out for my birthday and to head to Atlanta to celebrate with Beth on finishing up esthetician school! She has worked hard this year and we're excited for her be done...and to start giving free facials to all the family members, of course :) Tucker did great in the hotel, thanks to the blackout curtains that made for great naps! He also was a champ on the long car rides..especially since Mama was beside him the whole time :) As you can see, Tucker LOVES lemons and Uncle Anthony kept feeding him more... he doesn't even make much of a squinting face and literally eats it down to the peel!

One of his new favorite things to do is to turn on the water in the bathtub, over and over. He still loves to stand in his crib and most naps, I have to lay him back down several times. He's eating a TON lately...especially at dinner. It seems like he is a bottomless pit sometimes! Today, I dropped the lunchtime nursing and we'll be replacing that with a bottle...and hopefully a sippy cup soon! We added a little whole milk to his bottle today and he seemed to love it! We'll continue to wean him to the whole milk and I should be finished breastfeeding him by the time he's 1! Crazy! He also got his 8th tooth this week and I think I see the 9th one starting to come in!

Tucker had his first sleepover Wednesday night at the Gibbs! Melissa offered to keep him for the whole night so we could celebrate our birthdays and it was such a blessing! It was so weird to be in our house without Tucker there! He did great over there though and it was lots of fun for him and 4 of his biggest littlest fans! THANK YOU!

Last night, Tucker and I came to Greenville for a quick trip to meet my best friend Jordan's newest addition, Aldrie. We'll go to the opening football game tomorrow--GO PIRATES--and then head back home. So, that makes for Tucker sleeping in his own bed 2 out of the last 6 nights...I won't make you go on another road trip for a long time buddy :)

Have a great Labor Day weekend! Let the football season begin......

Celebrating all week long!

Sunday, I turned the big 2-9! In true Nicole fashion, I've been stretching my birthday out as long as possible :)

Last week, we had a fun girls night to celebrate my birthday as well as my friend, Meg's! It was so much fun and my mom even got to join us!

On my birthday, my family headed to Atlanta to see my sister and celebrate with her on finishing up esthetician school! We went out for a yummy Italian dinner and the best canoli I think I've ever had! More pictures to come from our time in Atlanta!

And, we're definitely saving the best for last... Melissa graciously offered to take Tucker tomorrow night--the WHOLE night--so that Brad and I could celebrate our birthdays (Brad's is this Sunday)! This will be the first night that we have both left him! He will have a blast having a sleepover with 4 boys that can't get enough of him and we will have fun just hanging out after 8 pm outside of our house :)

Thanks to all my family and friends for making my birthday special! Here's to my 29th year...
