Sand in my toes...

It's so funny to me how pictures make everything look great and easy... As readers of the blog, you don't always get to see or hear about the "behind the scenes" that has to go on to make the pictures possible. This was one of those times...

We were excited for Tucker to have his first moments on the beach... We got a HUGE bag packed up with toys, towels, burpcloths, hats, sunscreen, etc... We had a big umbrella to provide shade for Tucker's oh-so-white-never-seen-the-sun-skin and the camera in tow, of course. When we got out to the beach and the men began the process of getting the umbrella to stay in the sand and it was just not happening...it was very windy so it kept blowing over and we didn't know any secret tricks to getting the umbrella to stay. In the meantime, Tucker is getting sleepy, he spits up all over me and the blanket, and I'm realizing that all of this work to get out to the beach is about to be wrapped up in 5 minutes.

We managed to take these few pictures...which my boy is not happy in...and I quickly took him back to the house to take his nap. Thankfully Pops stayed inside with him so I could go enjoy the beach for a few hours!

All that work for just a few minutes was of course, worth it to take these few cute pictures of Tucker at the beach! I can't wait to make many more memories at the beach this summer!

Happy Easter!

Despite Tucker having a little of a rough weekend, we were excited to celebrate Easter with our family and for Tucker to have his first Easter!

He had fun with his Easter basket...He got lots of new toys from Pops and Gigi that he can play with while he's sitting up!

We went to a delicious Easter brunch... Enjoy the pictures--Tucker was a handsome little fella if I must say so myself :)

Tucker's doing great in the highchair...today, he enjoyed eating the table (thank you teething)!

And to end the Easter day, Daddy plopped Tucker on a blanket with him on the couch to watch the Masters... I'm not sure he noticed anything but his toys :)

Hope you all had a great Easter...Thank you Jesus for the cross!

Pitiful boy...

This is my Aunt Margaret holding Tucker in his "pitiful state". We have had a sad little boy on our hands! It has definitely been one of those weekends where it seems like everything was wrong. Tucker got his shots at the doctor on Thursday and Friday he spiked a fever of a little over 101. He has never had a fever yet (thankfully!), so that was a little stressful for me and he was just so lethargic and fussy. He's also cutting his second tooth which added to the fussiness and not-so-good naps. On top of all this, we were at the beach--new environment, lots of people, lots of dogs... leading to a little overwhelmed, fussy Tucker. He has done A LOT of laying around in people's arms, which is not like him, and he has been making Mama SAD with his pitiful faces :( We are staying at the beach for the rest of the week, so hopefully he'll cheer up!

Tucker Weekly

Tucker is 26 weeks old today! We just got home from his 6 month old check up, so here are his stats:

Weight: 19 lbs, 6 oz...80th percentile
Height: 28 in...95th percentile! (can't believe this!)

He had to get a few more shots and he screamed almost the whole appt-Yikes! But he survived and is taking a great nap as we speak :)

A few things Tucker has been up to this week:
-He finally rolled from back to tummy!
-He sat up in a grocery cart for the first time
-His "fro" is growing more and more every day!

There are bound to be some more firsts this week because we're heading to the beach tonight to spend Easter with my family! I can't wait for Tucker to feel the sand in his toes! Stay tuned for fun beach pictures!

6 months old!

How is this possible?!?!? We are officially not "new" at this anymore and Tucker seems to have graduated from the newborn stage. It is so hard to believe HALF A YEAR has already been experienced with our little one! He is so much fun right now and we're excited about all the ways he's seeming like a big boy! Happy half Birthday to you Tucker!

Here is our big boy...

And here's a look at the past...

Stay tuned for Tucker Weekly...

"And don't forget, Live Life Abundantly"

If you haven't seen the movie, Seven Pounds (with Will Smith), this is a great quote from it! I watched it this weekend and I thought it was very fitting for the weekend I had in the mountains with my college best friends! These girls are some of my oldest, dearest friends and so faithfully continue to walk through life with me! I love that we are committed to getting together, even though life has certainly changed a lot this past year when we added to babies to the crew! Tucker and I were in great company with my friend Jen and her little boy Micah, who was born almost 4 months after Tucker. Tucker did pretty well on our trip... he just seems to get a little overwhelmed by new environments and the "unfamiliar"...which makes him want to cling to the Mama. Hopefully exposing him to more people and more places will help! But, he sleeps great and stays on his little routine pretty well in a different environment and for that, I'm very thankful!

As most girls weekends go, we ate well, laughed a lot, played well, talked a lot, and caught up on life. I love how we can have no agenda and literally do nothing, but have the most fun! Thanks girls for another great weekend...Love you all so much!

Enjoy this slideshow of pictures... And thanks to Julie for taking some pictures of Tucker and I...Mom never gets in the pictures!

Tucker Weekly

Tucker is 25 weeks old today! 25 sounds old! Our little one is seeming bigger and older all the time. A few big things have been going on this week...

He's gotten his first tooth! It hasn't come all the way through yet, but you can see and feel the top and he has definitely had some teething symptoms to go with it! It's been a slow process of the tooth actually coming in, so it will be interesting to see how fast other teeth come in!

One of his teething symptoms has been a little cold and there have been a few days where he seemed more lethargic than usual... this was him chillin with daddy.

He's loving his new toy--the jumper! Anything he can do "standing" seems fun to him!

He's been riding in his new big boy carseat and he sat in a high chair at a restaurant for the first time this week! No more heavy carseat to carry around everywhere!

He's officially in love with Mama! I'm not really excited about this attachment issue but we're working on it...leaving him in childcare at church, leaving him at the Gibbs once a week, and being around different friends... he's not happy without me most of the time, but hopefully this will get better!
