and the NESTING officially begins...

nest[verb]
1 : to build or occupy a nest : settle in or as if in a nest 2 : to form a nest for

So, yes, just like the birds, this is what us pregnant girls do...we prepare a little nest for our babies on the way! And with only 9 weeks to go, the nesting is in full force! This week the nursery finally started to come together... we got our furniture and our BEAUTIFUL bedding--all hand made by Brad's mom--the talented seamstress! I couldn't have imagined how much I would love it once it all came together this week! It's looking very cozy in there and all ready for a little one to arrive! It will be fun to see if it's a little "she" or a little "he" that sleeps in that crib! Enjoy these few pictures of our new nursery!

Ultrasound #3!

Well, today was a fun day because we got to see our little baby again! I'm almost 28 weeks, so the baby is growing and looking big in there! It weighs about 2 1/2 pounds (in the 50th percentile) and looking healthy and pretty on schedule! Words just cannot describe what it is like to see your baby, feel it moving around, and know that it is alright! We are sure the baby has my nose and we think it looked like a boy in the face today, but we'll just have to wait and see! It is hard to believe that I'm entering the third trimester and we're only 12 weeks away! I don't know if we're ready for this, but we'll be doing whatever we know to do to get prepared to meet our little one! Until then, make your guesses of what you think we're having!

things i would have never done before i was pregnant...

1. drink orange juice every morning instead of coffee
2. wake up in the middle of the night, for anything, especially to use the bathroom a few times
3. want the air conditioner cooler than Brad (he's not complaining!)
4. eat ground beef for dinner as many nights as possible

HOT MAMA...

It's hot! Have I said lately that it's hot? I think this will officially be my coined phrase for the summer! This weekend the temperatures around here skyrocketed to HOT and the air conditioner never felt so good! We did leave Huntersville, where it was nearing 100 degrees and headed to Missouri, where it was not far behind in the 90's! It's going to be an interesting summer of being hot and pregnant so I'll just be using the "pregnant card" whenever someone suggests going outside! To all my pregnant friends, stay inside as much as possible! We did have a good weekend seeing Brad's family and celebrating with Brad's high school friend, Jay, as he and Gigi got married! We're settling back in at home and gearing up for the next two weeks of packing and getting ready to close on our new house!

We might have a stubborn one on our hands!

So, today we had our 2nd ultrasound (if you remember, we had to have another one because at our first one a few weeks ago, they couldn't see as much as they would like to)... So, we've been really excited to see a little more detail on the baby's body and maybe a better look at it's face! Well, it took awhile, literally! She tried for a long time and the baby just refused to turn it's face in our direction! I went to meet with the doctor with hopes that 20 minutes later the baby would have moved a little... But, sure enough, it was still in the same stubborn position for the few minutes we attempted to see it! She offered me some orange juice and another 20 minute wait to see if we could have any luck and finally, an hour later, we saw our sweet baby's face! Hopefully this is NO indication of our baby's personality (although I've already been told by my husband and my parents that I would deserve that...wonder why? :)... So, we saw the little one and the pictures were taken in 3-D...it is amazing how much it really looks like a baby (and even looks like it has my nose if you ask me)! We actually got a DVD as well but are trying to figure out how to upload that on here... Everything looked healthy and right on schedule, which is of course what we're most thankful for! It was another fun day for Brad and I as we experienced the "realness" of this baby that is developing inside of me and how overwhelmingly blessed we feel that God has so perfectly protected and developed it thus far!

Thank you for your continued prayers for us and Baby Fiehler! I'm almost 20 weeks...halfway through the pregnancy!!!

First comes love...

Then comes a new dog...then comes a new house...and here comes Baby Fiehler!!! What a year 2008 has already been for us! As much as a whirlwind it has been at times, we are feeling overwhelmingly blesssed by all the GOOD things that are happening!

I am in my 17th week of pregnancy and am feeling great! Today was ultrasound day and it was amazing to finally see this little baby that has been growing inside of me for all this time! We are NOT finding out what the sex of the baby is, which worked out fine today because the baby was all curled up and refusing to change positions, not allowing them to see or measure as much as they usually can. The good news is we're actually going to get to go back in two weeks for another ultrasound (fine with me!). The even better news is we were thrilled with what we saw...our baby, with a head, nose, ears, arms and fingers...it was curled up in a comfy position like all was perfect in its little world of my belly and it was beautiful! We did get a few pictures and this precious one that you're seeing was our favorite...a perfect "hand wave" from the baby, seeming to say "Hi, see me, I'm down here!" What a beautiful moment to meet our little one for the first time and how blessed we feel that the baby is healthy and growing exactly how it's supposed to! For now, we appreciate your prayers for Baby Fiehler...we'll keep you posted!
