Hadley Monthly

I have A LOT of blogging to catch up on but I'll start by updating you on our little TODDLER. Hadley is 17 months old and has definitely crossed over the last few months from being a baby to a busy, determined, curious toddler.  And it almost feels "new" to us because Tucker was so much less adventurous than her!

The pigtails were established not too long ago and we just can't get enough :)  Her hair is really growing and it's making her look so girly.

Her main goal in life is to keep up with Tucker...

This was at Tucker's end of year party at school--she insisted on eating her lunch with the "big kids" :)
Riding in the big Target cart together for the first time...
And the Harris Teeter "race car"...
She loves her little friend Ava - they were checking out the Chick-fil-A playground for the first time.
We've had a fun summer being outside - swinging, swimming, playing in the yard, splash pads... And she is fearless in all these situations!  At the park she climbs up to all the biggest slides and goes down on her own - I'm always surprised that she never hesitates.  She LOVES being outside and always wants to escape when the door opens.
She's eating more and more food these days...and she rarely turns anything down. She's recently tried shrimp, cucumbers, tomatoes - and she enjoyed it all!  Here she is enjoying her first lollipop - that was a no brainer :)
Bathing suit + pigtails = Enough said :)
Hadley is playing more independently although she stays occupied longer if you're playing with her.  She typically likes to play with whatever Tucker is playing with but every now and then, we can get her to play with some more "girly" toys :)
She loves standing on things and she climbs on EVERYTHING.  A month ago we had a few days where she was trying to crawl out of the crib but thankfully she never succeeded.  But, chairs, tables, couches-- she's all over it.  She also loves chairs and "finding a place to sit" wherever we are.
These two are just too sweet.  They have their moments, don't get me wrong.  But, they love to be together, snuggle, play together... it is very sweet.  I'm so thankful for the way Tucker looks out for her and is interested in interacting with her.
Hadley - You are a mess!  We call you busy, non-stop, determined, stubborn, smart, goofy, and snuggly.  I love the way you "back up to my lap" when you want to read books.  I love your dimple.  I love your chubby legs and your not-so-little feet.  I love the way you are trying so hard to talk although we can't hardly understand what you're saying.  I love how you snuggle when you drink your bottle and how you love your "de-de" just like your brother.  You dropped your morning nap about a month ago and we are finding more and more things to fill our mornings.  You take a 2-3 hour nap in the afternoon and still sleep a solid 12 hours at night.  You love Grey and you call her "dey".  You love people and wave at strangers wherever we go.  You like to put your dirty clothes in the hamper and "clean everything" with a wipe.  You love to dance and do it as soon as you hear music.  You love books but won't sit still for more than one page.  You don't do well in grocery carts or strollers--you'd much rather not be confined.  You rarely play with toys but instead walk around looking for the next household item to make your own.  You are passionate, silly, playful, sweet, and just so stinkin cute these days.  We love you Hadley girl!
