What a Great Day!!!

With yesterday being the 4th of July and everyone celebrating with cookouts and fireworks late into the night, most people take today to relax and recover. Well, just because you are tired from yesterdays activities does not mean that you should forget there are reasons to celebrate today:

1) Did you know that in 1946 the bikini was introduced - shouldn't we all celebrate that!

2) With the men's finals of Wimbledon being this morning, we should not forget that in 1975 Arthur Ashe became the first African American to win this historic tournament.

3) Most importantly, in 1949 a life was begun for a man named Michael Walter Fiehler. You can do the math but that would mean that today he is celebrating his 60th birthday (for those who are wondering, that is exactly TWICE as old as I am). So dad, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! Sorry that I cannot be there to celebrate with you, but then again you would probably be taking a nap, going to dinner at 4:30, yelling at neighborhood kids for getting in your yard, changing your Depends, taking medicine or some other activity that you elderly people do.

It was a good 4th...

Perfect weather...not a cloud in the sky...family on the beach...baby in the water...seafood for dinner...watching fireworks off the front porch...it was a good day!

This is Tucker's favorite position...one leg in front and one leg in back

Going...

Going...

Gone...on my belly and LOVING IT!

He layed in the water and he loved it as it rushed up on him...he LOVES the ocean!

Thankful for our freedom!

Tucker Weekly

Tucker is 37 weeks old! There were a few things I forgot to mention last week... He weighed in at 22 pounds and 7 ounces when he had to go to the doctor a few weeks ago! BIG BOY! Also, he's eating better and better with his fingers! He loves cheerios and puffs and hopefully we'll start trying more foods in the next few weeks! It's definitely nice for me that he can start feeding himself a little bit!

He continues to move a lot...not quite crawling but so close. Yesterday he had his first incident with the coffee table that landed him a good little strawberry on his head!

Tucker is so determined these days and if you take a toy away from him, it's not pretty :) Brad was teasing him just for the fun of it here (imagine that) and I had to get a picture of this face!

His hair...Oh his hair... I've been trying to comb it down a little and it will lay down for a little while, but for the most part, we've still got the stick-straight-up-chick-like hair going on! If it was up to Brad, it would stick straight up, so I may loose that battle :)

We just came down to the beach to spend the 4th with my family... Looking forward to more beach and pool time... pictures to come!

Tucker Weekly

36 weeks old = big boy things!

Sippy cup--he's doing better with it and he's even starting to hold it on his own!

He's on the move... not "technically" crawling, but wiggling, squirming, rolling, grabbing onto whatever will get him there... We can't turn our back on him for long!

He's been moving around in his crib a ton and practically removing his whole bumper pad, so to keep that in tact for later, it will be crib slats only for now... and we'll be moving that crib down this week!

Jordan came to visit this weekend (picture above)! She is one of my oldest, bestest friends and any time to hang out with her is always fun! Thanks for coming to visit Jordan...we're looking forward to your new baby girl coming soon!

Finally, we've all been on the sick side this week...I think we're coming out of it but I think we've all got a little cabin fever! Hopefully we'll be getting outside a lot more in the next few days!

Surprise!

We had a surprise birthday lunch to celebrate Melissa's "big" birthday! There are so many things I am grateful for when I think of Melissa and the way she has influenced my life over the past 6 years! It was so much fun to sit around a table full of her beautiful friends and listen to the sweet words they shared about their friendships with Melissa!

Happy Birthday Melissa... Love you and can't wait to celebrate many more!

Happy Father's Day!

Dear Brad,

Love the way you make silly faces to make Tucker smile...

Love the way you step in to help, even when you're about to gag :)

Love the way you know just when I need a break

Love to watch you get down on the floor to play with Tucker

Love the way you smile when you look at our boy

Love the way we're in this together, even though we've had good days and bad

Love that I've got a son that is loved well by his Daddy

LOVE YOU Babe...Celebrating you today and these last 8 months that I've gotten to watch you become a Father! Looking forward to continuing on this road with you!
